QUAST Fabrics
Quast is founded in 2017 by artists Sonja Weißmann and Christiane Fochtmann who have known each other since studying at the renowned Art Academy of Duesseldorf, Germany.
Sonja Weißmann is a figurative painter. With a preference for improvisation using a variety of painting techniques, she predominantly creates large scale landscapes and intimate portraits.
The special field of Christiane Fochtmann is space and its potential transformations: sculptural works, sound- and video installations provide the cornerstones of her creative practice.
Quast combines both approaches: painting is extended into spatial environments and conceived as elements of interior design.
